I have an old car and the water pump started leaking a little last year and then it suddenly got so bad that I was sure it needed replacing. But the problem was that the entire engine had to be removed to replace it, so while the cost of a new water pump was cheap, the labor cost was insane. So I desperately decided to try Bar's Leaks and to my surprise it actually worked as advertised. After I put it in the radiator and started the car, the leak stopped completely in about 5 minutes. I left the machine running for the remaining twenty minutes, and six weeks later not a drop of water came out of the pump. I'm really amazed. So if you're looking for an inexpensive way to stop a serious water pump leak, I'd recommend trying Bar's Leaks. I don't know how long this will take, but given the cost of replacing the water pump I'll probably just buy more latches if the leak happens again.
