Good bassinet with some interesting features and a few flaws

I have three kids so I have some experience with bassinets. I've wanted to try a bedside table like this for a long time, so I ordered this one. I was a little upset when I received it because the inside of the box wasn't well padded and parts of the cradle brace had punctured the box and cracked badly. The problem wasn't the delivery, it was the packaging in the box. It doesn't seem damaged enough to prevent it from working, but those parts were supposed to snap into place, but they didn't. It looks like a metal button was missing on each side, but it should have been on a different part, not the damaged parts. Assembly wasn't that bad and there were only a few parts, but it did require assembly in places and the instructions weren't very clear. The charts they had for the more specific and confusing parts were very small, hard to see, and the wording was weird. There was also a strong smell of vinegar but it seems to have dissipated a bit over time so hopefully airing it out will take care of that. The Velcro mattress is very soft and feels comfortable. The lid appears to be removable for washing, but it will likely be quite difficult. After assembly, it makes a quite stable impression. It's fairly flat either way, and adding the baby's weight didn't seem to change the level much. I've had other cradles that tilted severely when you put your baby in and ended up rolling over the edge all night. You can adjust the height with your feet and I originally thought you could adjust it so that the head is a bit higher for reflux etc but the instructions specifically say not to do this and both feet should be at the same height . It has a drop lever which is really nice and pretty easy to use, but I wish it was securely open and not just hanging. I'm not sure I like it any better than the spring-loaded fold-out side in the Halo tote bags. This is more for co-sleeping than carrying a baby, which is what the Halo bassinet was designed for. One feature I think is really cool is that it has straps that you can use to attach it to your bed so it can't be pushed down. If you use it more like a cosleeper, this is very important. It will probably be a little painful for you to get in and out of bed even though you can't move it. I noticed that parts of the legs were taped. I found that the band keeps the legs up because they are spring loaded to stretch. I'm not sure what purpose this serves. Maybe it's just because it can still fit if your bed frame is a bit in the way. Because it attaches to the bed, it prevents the spring-loaded legs from expanding. Aside from the potentially missing and broken parts, I think my biggest complaint is that this bassinet doesn't have any baskets or pockets to store essentials like diapers etc. I'm pretty sure I could put my own baskets on the floor below, or buy a basket that hooks onto the edge, but it's not exactly cost-effective. All in all, this is a pretty cool cradle. I'm in the minority worried about security due to damage, but it doesn't seem to affect stability or durability. I don't think it's the best bassinet, but it's decent.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Nothing
