Timetec Hynix 32GB Kit (4 x 8GB) DDR3 ECC Unbuffered DIMM - Genuine Lenovo ThinkServer TS-140 Factory Replacement

Pros: - Plug-in SODIMMs built into Lenovo ThinkServer TS- 140 work great. - Matches the performance of the Crucial ECC module. Lower cost than Crucial ECC modules. Lenovo uses Hynix branded DIMMs as original equipment from the factory. Non-ECC DIMMs from G-Skill Ripjaw. - The Windows Performance Index scores these modules a 7.4 compared to G-Skill Ripjaw modules with a score of 7.6 for the same CAS latency and time. - The price of DDR3 modules has increased significantly over the past year. These Hynix modules would have cost less than $200 for 32GB in 2016. Other thoughts: Now that DDR4 has become the industry standard, unbuffered ECC DDR3 DIMMs are hard to come by. The price has increased by over 30% in the last year for practically the same product. With my Lenovo TS-140 servers still serving my needs, I'll just have to keep an eye out for deals on those DDR3 modules if they ever pop up. This Hynix 32GB kit was the best price I could find in October 2017 and I haven't seen a lower price since. If you're buying a used server that requires unbuffered DDR3 ECC DIMMs, this is probably the best deal on new modules. 16GB modules are more expensive than these 8GB modules. If you have the time and are willing to take the risk, you can try looking for used modules. They're usually technically good if they're compatible with your particular make/model of server, but you run the risk of buying cheaper used parts.
