This product is much better than the standard Acer Aspire A715-71G AC Adapter. The stock PSU got very hot, to the point where the wire wrap slipped out of the reinforcement around the brick (leaving dangerous exposed wires) and overheated. The stock power supply caused the laptop to slow down and lose power as the power supply overheated (the power supply appeared to be cooking itself). When the PSU warmed up sufficiently, it stopped charging (probably as a protection). The standard power supply was rated at 135 watts and this one was rated at 180 watts. This power supply has long cables that connect to both ends of the power supply, does not overheat (maximum slightly warm), has a non-obtrusive green power indicator light, has Velcro on the cable, and connects to the laptop's charge port. slightly tilted (will likely slip out rather than break if accidentally pulled/tugged on the port). The reinforcement of the cable at the transition to the brick also inspires confidence. I would prefer an OEM version from Acer any day of the week.
