The hangers are about 13" long, 9" of which are wood and the other 4 1/2" is a chrome rod (about 2 1/4" long). each end, which has a clip on each end of the hanger. The clips cannot be adjusted to hold anything less than 10" wide because there is no stem under the wooden segment of the hanger. The back of both clips is unfinished, so that they are not as strong as other skirt hangers.There are no grommets on the part of the clip that attaches to skirts, so I would not recommend using them on delicate materials.The hanger's chrome-plated hook is 360 degrees swivels, but it's short and dangles a little over 1 inch off my closet rod, making it difficult to swivel the hangers but still hanging in the closet.
