In the photo: 1 regular bulb, 1 LED. The illuminated area is determined by the reflectors in the bike: the Vstrom has one for diffuse and one for distance. I haven't compared them to my dad's $100+ headlights yet since we weren't together at night, but they're definitely brighter than stock! The Bad: You have to cut a hole in the waterproof shell where the original bulbs go to mount the fans. But I'd rather do that than not have fans, so I think it's worth it. If you get out in the rain a lot you can put a little rubber cover over the fans to keep water out, but I don't think water gets in that area since all the body work is done on it.
