Chg is enough for a short time, but I charge it once a week.
Don't throw away your regular toothbrush. It doesn't clean my whole mouth like my electric one so I've now increased my brushing time from 2 minutes with electric to 3.5 minutes because I use both, but my mouth seems very clean and my teeth look whiter.
