Review on JACKYLED Adapter 5 Pack Chandelier Converter by Jeff Dabney

I ordered this product to solve a problem. (Chandeliers with LED ceiling fans are slightly more expensive.) After reading some reviews of this product, I began to wonder why something so simple was getting bad reviews for breaking switches, smoking, or starting fires. Received my order today and took a good look at the adapters and found out why some people were having problems. Incandescent and CFL bulbs have larger, pointed nipples at the base where the solder is applied. LED bulbs have a wide flat disc at the bottom of the base. If you look into the socket of the adapter, you will see that the inside of the base is made of brass and has almost the same diameter as the LED lamp's nipple. Long story short, if you screw the bulb in tight, it will fail, shorting out the inside of both pins on the adapter. Even if the lamp is not very sealed, it can get pretty close to the arc. The adapter manufacturer can address this potential problem by increasing the distance between the contact points. I put a high temp insulator under the center pin to keep anyone from over twisting the bulb and shorting out the pins. Accordingly, the light works perfectly. No smoke or tripped switches. I hope the manufacturer fixes this problem so no one else has problems.
