Does not mate with RCA plugs
A regular male RCA plug has the outer pins made of flat metal so that it can be plugged into an RCA socket even if it is installed in the equipment case. In this particular product, the outer pins are not flat sheets of metal, but a thick piece of metal that tapers to the size of the connector body. This means that these connectors can only be used on protruding RCA connectors, not on pluggable ones. The connectors are undoubtedly sleeker and more modern than the old cables, and they are, but a sleek cable that I can't connect to my turntable is useless.
