I bought this in March 2020 and connected it to my PC's HDMI port. It worked fine but when I had to move my computer in August 2020 I unplugged it and this adapter fell apart. The gold shell on the pins stayed in the port, and the pins came out with the string. There is supposed to be a two year warranty but when I click on the warranty information link it takes me to a page that says I may be able to find help online. woohoo! If you don't mind shelling out $10 for a one-time use, that's fine, but not if you expect it to last even a reasonable amount of time.
