UE 900s - Not perfect, but good quality and sound.

UE 900s - not perfect but good quality and sound Packaging 9/10 - The box looks and feels very high quality. As you unpack, you feel like you made the right decision with your hard-earned cash. Delivered very quickly and as advertised. Accessories 8/10 - Huge selection of silicone and memory foam eartips. Excellent arrangement of earbuds sorted by size. These plastic retainers are included for all sizes so you can test each size to find the perfect fit. A very nice touch and speaks of premium quality. I made the point though because while the ear tips are good, I've found that they still don't provide the best fit like other aftermarket memory foams I've used. The sound signature seems to change with the included earbuds. Read more in the Sound section. The two cables that came with it were of good quality. One has a remote control, the other doesn't. They look solid, but the workmanship could be better. So just a moment dejected. They are not 100% perfect and do not exude luxury in this price range. The braided cable that runs from the Y splitter to the jack feels absolutely great and is durable. However, there is no latch and only a small rubber-plastic cover. From this point on, the cables leading to the earbuds themselves don't feel as nice and, in my opinion, look a bit cheap for the price you're paying. Giving it a rubberized shell/housing would give it the ultimate feel and durability rather than making you crave better quality cables. Sound 9/10 - When first listening with the provided earbuds, I felt the sound seemed slightly muddy. Highs, mids, lows didn't sound clear to me for some reason. I then replaced the ear tips with memory foam after the sale and that made the biggest difference. The sound from them is very detailed and balanced. The highs and mids are very good. However, depending on the music, the highs can sometimes be a bit veiled to me, but it is definitely very high-quality in sound and worth every penny you pay. Bass is good and present but lacks power, but it's definitely not bad. Conclusion: The UE 900s offers good value for money. The UE sound signature is definitely there. I have their UE 6000 series headphones and when I first bought them 5 years ago they exceeded my expectations. The UE 900s sound very good at this price point, and while there are some downsides to the included earcups and cables, these are minor issues and shouldn't put those looking for good all-round in-ear headphones off from this serious device Manufacturer.
