On the one hand, the design of this hammer is the worst I've seen and I have a complaint about anyone who, for any reason, takes "peen" as "pein" writes " (but that's more of a personal issue. ;) With another . . . it still works great like a hammer and the weight is right. In terms of specificity, it looks like someone has metal in one Cloth bag cast in the fuzzy shape of a ball head hammer and then, once hardened, finished to the required finishes.. The beveled edge around the flat part of the hammer looks like it was sanded down with a grinder by a 5 year old with ADD, and the cylindrical shape on it has many flat sides, as if it was made on a hammer lathe, which jerked a little. The "pointed" end isn't particularly smooth either, although it looks more like it was made by one Hand sharpened by ADD machinists and not by a 5 year old. The wooden handle also feels like it won't take many hits. In the end it works exactly how I want it and is worth the price. However, don't expect it to look (or cost) like a big brand would.
