Review on NUTRO NATURAL CHOICE Adult Chicken Dry Dog Food – Natural and Nourishing by Christy Grizzle

I've been buying Inside (supposedly such a formula) for a few months now. My Gwen has always liked it so I figured I could save some money by going through my main account. Well, the first time I fed Gwen this Amazon food, I realized it looked and felt different. Most of the more expensive dog foods like Blue Buffalo and even Nutro have an oily feel, but felt dry like the cheaper brands and the pellets looked different. I was a little concerned about this but didn't see why it could be fake as it looked legit on the internet. The moment Gwen finished eating, she started shaking violently. At first I thought she was choking, so I started checking to see if her airway was blocked, but it wasn't. Her legs were weak and she whimpered in pain for 5 minutes before throwing up. Then she started drooling like crazy trying to eat anything that even looked like weed. I figured she must have some kind of blockage, or maybe she had eaten something spicy earlier in the day. I took her outside and she rolled over madly in the grass and almost choked on it eating it so fast. She whimpered and was drenched in sweat. I pulled her out of the grass with difficulty, but pulled her out and rushed to the nearest emergency vet. They informed me that she didn't seem to have a block but was acting like she had been in something pretty toxic. I thought she must have hit something outside that I couldn't see. Her vitals were normal, so she was given an anti-nausea injection to force her to lie down on the grass. I took her home, she calmed down and looked normal. The next morning I gave her a small amount of Nutro, still unaware that this was the problem. She did not eat it until evening, and immediately afterwards she vomited. I tried feeding her other foods but she kept them smaller leading me to believe it had something to do with Nutro. I tried her for the last time the next day with the same predictable result. So I lost $120 on a visit to the vet and had to buy new food to replace that toxic liquid. I will take some of the food to my GP to have it checked for contaminants. Nutro is a good brand in my experience but I will never order from Amazon again.
