This thermal zip offers a snug, athletic and comfortable fit that sits snugly at the waist thanks to an elastic band integrated into the fabric base. Not the warmest I've ever used, but the extra warmth is noticeable on days when temperatures drop into the 40's. It may be acceptable as a barrier layer in the 30's and 20's, I just don't see that type of weather in LA often enough to be effective in those circumstances. I bought for $34.99 and felt it was a great value at that price. North of $45 it starts to give less value per dollar but I am a fan of this product and would recommend it.
