Three years, four years of heavy use (nine kids aged 2-15)
Edited: Three years later, still works great! since then daily. Almost everyone in the family has used it and it's holding up great. I don't notice any loss of grip on the holders. It works much better than other types of tension based holders that rely on springs. I don't want to overestimate him, but with nine kids, he definitely weathered all the trials (and possibly the pressures) and did his job.
