Not 100% waterproof. instead of 80%.

Failed to load media. I bought this because I was dying to try a fountain pen, but I knew that many of the inks designed for fountain pens are not waterproof. I did a little research and came across an artist blog called parks blogs that also has a YouTube channel. Your blog post states that noodlers are waterproof but take a long time to dry, which is why many people think they aren't waterproof. In the video I used the app to compress 5 minutes to 1 minute so I wouldn't make a long video of myself just waiting. As far as I can see the ink is definitely not waterproof. I cleaned up light yellow and orange swatches, then over my letter, then another swatch and the color darkened a bit because the ink had come off. I then waited a few hours and applied swatches of blue and purple over waterproof; and "noodles", a light color turned dark and slightly cloudy. I'm not sure what the company was thinking. I don't mind waiting half an hour for something to dry. I use watercolor, my favorite medium, so I'm used to just observing things dry, but 3-4 hours between taking a video and then a light fill of ink only to see that they're still dirty is the paint too long. I don't really recommend this if you're buying it because you need something totally waterproof or tough. You'll probably have to wait many, many hours, and even then the ink may smudge your colors anyway. Thank goodness it's not a complete liquid mess, but if you like soft highlights better look for other inks or use something like a micron when it's definitely waterproof. €13 is not a bad price. Lots of ink in there. When I first opened it, it spilled on the front and that's why there's a black line on the lid. So if you buy it and don't care that it's not 100% waterproof, just do it on a flat table with a label on the bottom of the lid. The color isn't the darkest of blacks, but when you use it for things like lines no one can notice the slight smudges of the color, but when you do big blurs it's a bit noticeable unless you're layering.

Pros
  • Ink
Cons
  • So far so good
