I am VERY glad I took the time to look at the reviews before purchasing. I recommend them *highly* for the thickness and quality! One of the runners loved them and I knew they understood HOW to work to be effective. My podiatrist said that the metatarsal pads are so easy for patients to give up because they are painful. He explained that in order for the foot to function as efficiently as it was designed, it needs time to adjust to the new support. This takes up to two weeks. So I put on my big pants for two weeks and endured it, and my legs are finally happy with some great support. My protruding metatarsal head no longer hurts. I wear steel-toed work boots for up to 10 hours every day and walk rough rocks and rocks. After finding the right placement, I attached them to the Prostep insoles so they couldn't move in warm boots. A+++
