Just wanted to clarify if you need to purchase additional parts to use this rod as another reviewer suggested. Mine arrived yesterday with a 3/8" male end firmly attached to the post and a 1/4" adapter. You can see my mic is screwed into the 3/8" jack. The bar seems very strong and quite long. I think 8ft and folds to about 3ft. I teach kids how to make movies , so time will tell how it will be Wait until I'm very impressed.
