It definitely stinks!

I'm actually Nancy's husband and this purchase was for me. So I can write a review, yes! We have one of these new HE front loading washing machines. Before it worked perfectly. However, I started running last year. I know what this has to do with anything, just wait. While running, I bought several pieces of clothing made from technical fabrics, much to my wife's chagrin. While they worked well during workouts, I honestly noticed that I had a bad odor while wearing them. No, I just stink. It doesn't matter whether the shirts or shorts were freshly washed when they were smell tested, they didn't work. It wasn't a problem for me because I walk alone and nobody bothers me. Well, I ended up running my first marathon (in Honolulu with over 20,000 of my best friends). I had a smell as the race progressed. After the race I wondered if everyone else thought I smelled as bad as I thought (they did). To add to what I find to be a somewhat unacceptable condition, I recently persuaded my wife to join me in the exercises by running around the stadium once a week (crazy huh?). I did this by assuring her that we could stop later and have dinner. Well, the stench was definitely an issue that needed solving. Let me just say that I really didn't want to question my wife's ability to use our washing machine so I wouldn't have to wash all my clothes myself. In fact, I tried sneaking myself into the sink, but to no avail. In the end, I cautiously spoke to her about this topic. She confirmed: 1. Yes, I stunk 2. No, the neighbors cat didn't use my jogging clothes as cat litter 3. Yes, she can do laundry 3. And last but not least, most importantly, yes, I had to do everything about it So left I searched the internet for an answer. Turns out it's the best features of technical clothing that cause this problem. who knew Plus, it turns out I wasn't alone in my quest for clean-smelling workout gear. There have been several suggestions/methods to get rid of this stench. This included using vinegar at the various stages of washing, showering with my clothes on right after a workout (I thought I might get really weird looks and maybe get nailed for it), and then hanging them on problem areas with baking soda to dry .and in the waist area. wash and use a suitable detergent, among other things. I decided to try vinegar first with some reasonable results. Then I decided to start looking for the right detergent straight away. Mind you, I didn't immediately shower clothed... After reading all the rave reviews, I decided to give SportSuds a try. To be perfectly honest, I didn't follow the recommendation to use two scoops to clean the washing machine before use (I just found it a waste and didn't have the patience for it). I just jumped in and did a few loads. Not wanting to waste a good wash, I added other items to my technical clothing when I loaded up to have a full load. This has the added benefit of keeping other items clean and fresh. I set up a soak cycle to let the clothes soak in the detergent. I also ended up using only one heaping scoop per load when only technical garments were available (it turns out less detergent and technical garments is more). So what were the results you may ask. are you asking right It turns out that's all he pretends to be. Even my most stinky clothes got clean over time. While the worst items took multiple washes to get clean, they smelled noticeably less after the first wash. Some may be put off by the price. I say REALLY not. Technical clothing is expensive and good friends and good companions are hard to come by. Do them all a favor and at least smell nice when you train with them.
