Review on Polk Audio DB652 Ultramarine Speakers by James Cowan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

You can't go wrong with Polk speakers!

The deck mounts to the marine panels in our Weldcraft boat and is powered by a Planet Audio PGR35B main unit. These things go together perfectly! Of course, it is practical if the speaker panels are attached to the closed front nose! Bass is more than adequate for a fishing boat, mids and highs are clean and not clipped without being muddy or absent, and volume is loud enough to be drowned out when we wanted to! It's a little hard to hear on a 150hp Merc jet due to the insanely loud engine, but on lower throttle the sound is pretty good and definitely audible throughout the boat. On my last boat I bought speakers cheap and had some crappy 6½" Boss speakers. Not this time! They're not exactly cheap either, and they definitely sound like a good pair, unlike the $20 Boss ones. speakers I had on my old boat!
