Review on πŸ”₯ Improved Laptop Heatsink Thermal Pads with Copper Heat Conductivity by Daryl Fitch

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Needs some creativity to maximize heat transfer

I'm admittedly skeptical that this will do anything in a laptop where there's likely little to no air movement to dissipate heat. So I used a 0.5mm spacer and a copper plate as the heatsink, which I then connected to the aluminum base of my Lenovo P1 Gen 2 laptop using another 3mm spacer, size 2280. The same recipe would probably be used for the P1 Gen 1 will work / X1 Extreme Gen 1 or 2 because they are all more or less the same laptops. There's more than enough compression to keep everything in place without elastics. (Note that rubber bands are useless in these laptops as the SSD is rigidly mounted to the motherboard so this product will not work alone on these laptops anyway). I am very happy with the result and I highly recommend this mod. Even under heavy load and long write times, I couldn't bring the M2 SSD above 40 degrees. The case gets hot (not hot) where the SSD is, but that just confirms the stack is working.
