Okay, I know it's silly to think of a gas canister, but after using those horrible plastic gas canisters for more than 10 years, I've finally settled on a metal canister. Of course, local choices are limited, unless I want something five gallons or larger, then there are plenty of options. Two gallons is just the right size for my garden and mower combination. My problem with plastic glasses is that they never felt safe. They will build up pressure, especially if left in the shed over the summer, causing a lot of steam to escape when opened, or they will allow gas vapors to enter the shed. I'm no genius, but I feel uncomfortable opening a shed or a plastic can. I've tried some of the newer, safer plastic containers with their bizarre configurations, but they never seem to last long or work properly, especially when it gets cold outside. how many petrol cans are enough. Yes it builds pressure and releases some air when opened but I believe there is a metal lightning protection built in. Haven't used it over the summer, but expect it to be an improvement over the crappy plastic cans I'm about to throw at the curb (well, I'm leaving one for the two-stroke mix). The funnel confused me, but it quickly became clear how it is attached and how easy it is to fill. And the metal just seems more durable and safer, although maybe the latter is just my wishful thinking. In any case, I recommend it.
