Ideal for keeping your drink can from sweating on your desk or in your hand. I mainly use it for water bottles. It fits nicely in a car cup holder, allowing thin water bottles to fit, and this fits in a car holder. I also use it to store water bottles around the house. This makes cheap thin drinking bottles stable and you don't have to worry about squeezing the bottle too tight. I don't use a lid at all. With the lid on, it's too close to your lips when drinking from a soda can. Works fine without a lid. Even after you've used it, take a sealed can of soda with you on a short trip to keep the soda half cold. I use it everyday mostly for water bottles, the bottles stick out at the top but love the stability it adds and the removal of bottle sweat when you put it down. Negative, not all water bottles will fit, Sam's Club bottles are a bit shorter and won't fit more, but standard narrow 500ml bottles will fit.
