I'm just a pain lover

I give this bag 3 stars and it has some quality control issues with the hardware and lining detailed below. But I'm still here and buying a replacement for the ones I've smashed because I haven't yet found a crossbody bag that suits my needs as perfectly as this one. I have two problems with this bag: 1. The first time I carried the bag outside the house, the outside zipper ripped in half. This happened at the airport just as I was about to board an international flight and it was the only bag I took with me due to its functionality. So a broken zipper came as a surprise right at the beginning of my trip. But I was still able to pull out what was left of the tongue easily enough to access the pocket, so I didn't consider it a complete deal breaker. (Another reviewer from April 2018 posted a photo of the exact same zipper failure, so it's definitely a quality control issue.) 2. The lining is torn. And broke. And broke. I thought I was going crazy - didn't I put my lip balm in that bag? Where is my pen? I know I had some spare change around here somewhere. Well, the first hole I found was a tiny pocket inside that no longer needed to be used to store lipstick. Then I found a hole in the main inner compartment, at the very bottom, which explains my pens and coins. And there was another hole I couldn't understand the origin of, even though I'd turned the liner inside out every which way I could to get at the stuck credit card. At that point I decided it was time to give my purse to my daughters in their clothes hamper. Again, this seems to be a common complaint among reviewers, so this is another quality control issue to consider. But I still came back here to buy another one. Despite its shortcomings, I really liked this bag. It has held up very well on my 2 week trip (its intended purpose) having been transferred from planes to trains and all stopovers. I was rude to the poor thing, but she stood her ground. When I got home I never carried anything back in my regular bag and it became my everyday bag for a full 4-5 months before the lining became an issue to continue using. I've never had the color rendering issues that other reviewers have mentioned, but I believe them; mine hasn't bled despite being exposed to rain and summer sweat off my back - obviously your mileage may vary. It holds up a lot more than I expected. While my regular wallet wouldn't fit in, a slim purse with all my cards, cash, and coins was an acceptable substitute. Plus: sunglasses, powder compact, lip products (some gloss and hygienic lipstick), pens, a passport holder, a pack of cigarettes (I know, shut up) and lighters, waste paper that I save all the time, a key fob (which is good is, it's just my house and car keys), a work key badge, a travel pack of tissues, and I'm not kidding, a can of soda if I take out the sunglasses and squeeze them in there. Plus things my kids will hide, so think about the occasional matchbox car, pacifier, or sock. So for the current price of around $16 (which I originally paid) it's worth the known risk to me to buy again. I know better than to expect 6+ months of combined regular use and at this price point, as functional as it hasn't fallen apart yet, I'm fine with that.
