This torque wrench works

I've used this torque wrench on several projects and haven't had a complaint yet. I hesitated to buy it because of the many negative reviews. The wrench will beep when it reaches the set torque. As another reviewer wrote, you can lower the pull to 4ft, but the wrench can't be preset to that low. I haven't had any problems with the battery or the battery cover, but it takes 4 AAA batteries as shown in the picture, not two as the description says. It's easy to use. I was going to grab one from…

  • Useless features

Accurate but not as easy to use as click type

I like the accuracy but the fact that there is no reset makes it difficult to reach the target torque. Go to slow speed and the nut stops and you get static friction, not sliding friction, go to fast speed and you'll miss a few points. The horns kick in slightly earlier, but as this is a pulsed horn the time between pulses is 'no information' and the RPM of the horns is used to report final torque. It takes a few beeps to know they've picked up speed, so plenty of practice learning what to hear

Inaccurate and difficult to read, not recommended.

I ordered one of these and when it arrived I put brand new batteries in and the LCD screen was very difficult to read. Then after setting it for torque I noticed that the reading was higher than my pre-sonic torque setting. I decided I had a broken key and ordered another one. It had the same characteristics. I calibrated the wrench against a known good wrench and found that the noise was accurate to the torque and the reading was consistently 5-20 ft-lbs. higher than the actual torque over the

Not adjustable under 10 lbs as described!

Good quality but unfortunately wrongly advertised and not suitable for my needs. I have a Triumph Bonneville and wanted to make a few modifications. With torque settings for my bike ranging from 5lbs to under 100lbs this wrench should be perfect, but this wrench now allows for adjustments that drop below 10lbs. The description says 4 pounds but it's not exact. It's not that much either, but the descriptions on Amazon also say it comes with batteries, but it doesn't. You need to provide 4 AAA…

Description is garbled

First, the description of this item is wrong. It has no "vibration" or "flash notifications". I checked it a dozen times. Second, the screen needs to be tilted at an angle for reading. Third, I wouldn't call the beep a "buzzer". Once the maximum set torque is reached, the quick horn turns into a continuous horn instead of a buzzer. I found it difficult to stop at the set torque without going over or under. Also, the beep isn't very helpful to stop at the right setting. You MUST be looking at…

Decent wrench and reduced torque to 4 ft-lbs

Previously this has been a great tool. I've used it several times and it gets easier each time. I like the function that registers the maximum torque. So if you are in an awkward position and can't see the gauge you can remove the wrench and see how close you are to the actual torque required and stop or continue tightening. The wrench says it goes from 4 to 99 ft-lbs, and it does, but there's a catch. If you read some of the other reviews you will see that some say it doesn't go down to 4ft…
