These things really work
We had a large one that we used for years and it was finally starting to struggle I think because all the drumming was corroding/flattening most of the surface of the charcoal; so it's best not to scatter them around like a beanbag. We put them in moldy places like children's rooms and backpacks, dog cages. It doesn't have a strong noticeable effect like a febrise spray, but it does help remove the smell of moisture from the air. They usually spend one day a week in the sun on the porch to recharge their batteries. Kids love character bags because they can choose one and have it as their own.
