I am a cat lover and bought this because it is a picture of a cat and it looks like it would be fun to embroider with all the bright colors. It is true. However, the fabric is unlike any Aida I have ever used and I have been embroidering for 50 years. I usually use 18 count weave and this kit has 14 count weave which means the squares and holes are larger. But the fabric is very immobile and the holes are not fully open, so you have to pierce the needle every stitch, not smooth. I even swapped out her needle for a smaller one, but it still doesn't come through easily. And since I use the hoop to hold the fabric in place, it's very difficult to get the fabric onto the hoop because it's very stiff. This is the first kit I've used that was made in China, so maybe that's how they're made there. I think in the future I will try to stay away from the Chinese. Or just use a pattern and my own fabric.
