This is a thick, beautiful, well tailored coat. Definitely better than what you find in regular pet stores for the same price! Love the fact that the chassis/bib is adjustable and not one size fits all! It is very thick and the reflective piping is nice to the touch. No slipping or twisting while walking, even without using rear elastics. Now for the cons: My dog is clearly between sizes. I ordered a large size for her because her neck measurement was 16 inches, chest measurement was 19 inches and length was 16-17 inches. They said that measuring the neck is the most important, and they were right, the neck doesn't deform. It fit my dog around his neck but I had to shorten the buckle straps to the shortest position. This meant the extra length of webbing dragged across the floor as I walked, knocking my short-legged terrier mix off my feet. Hidden buckle receptor makes it difficult to close when putting the jacket on. Taking off the jacket is no problem. I took my girl for her first 20 minute walk in 40°F weather. She has very thin fur and does not tolerate cold well. At the end of the walk she was still shaking. I was very surprised because, as I said, the wool is very thick, so I can only understand that the bib didn't fit her snugly. Unfortunately I think I have to return this coat even though I like the color, thickness and other features. The D-rings on the back are a great comfy touch and eliminate the need for straps unless you have a heavy puller.
