It's amazing that so many people have gotten this thing to work, but no one can draw a decent diagram of how to install it. Several google searches showed various possibilities, so I wired it up at least 10 different ways until I found what I needed. The trunk of my Fiat 500c would not open. The convertible top was damaged and would not open or close fully. This meant I couldn't restart the computer, which would allow the trunk to be opened. So I got this switch to bypass the ECU and connect the trunk lock actuator directly to the battery. The first button mode only moves the locking piece in one direction per press. The second button mode moved part of the lock back and forth, meaning the lock would re-lock after opening and closing the tailgate. Exactly what I (more specifically my wife) need. The only difference between my wiring and the wiring shown in this picture was that I connected the power supply to NO (normally open). So when I pressed the button, the contact closed and sent power to the lock actuator.
