There is little to no flavor from this deterrent. You may experience a VERY mild bitter taste that only lasts about an hour. This involves repeated use multiple times a day, which is quite inconvenient and inconvenient. This is NOT a polish. It's a liquid that doesn't really stick to the nails. It's like putting water on your nails. I will say that the fact that it is transparent when dry is pleasant. No glitter paint. This may work for children who may be more sensitive to taste. But me and my 13 year old son could barely feel the bitterness. I wanted it to work because the price was really good. Update 5/29/21: I am blown away by their customer service! They sent me a very detailed email apologizing for the hassle of returning the product (no hassle at all) and offering an explanation as to why the polish might not be so bitter for my son and I. They do this for safety reasons, as some children are very sensitive to tastes that are too bitter. Quite understandable! They also explained that they were working on a formula that would be more effective for people like my son and I who needed more containment and offered to ship a bottle once it became available.
