After missing most of the 2017 eclipse despite living close to the path of totality, I decided to at least pursue my amateur hobby of astronomy to expand for observing behind the sun. I have an 8" reflecting telescope. I used poster board to create a holder to attach the end of the 9 1/4" telescope tube and attached this sheet to it with an additional poster and tape. While it sounds unconvincing and casual, it actually looks great .and is great for observing the sun.A word of caution - if you have binoculars or eyepieces on your telescope, cover them with tape to render them useless.I was at a public event where a local amateur astronomer set up his telescope to observe the sun. Luckily he closed the extra observation eyepieces because children could appear and look into the wrong one! This mistake is easy to make and likely to lead to blindness. Always check the solar filter for small ones before use Holes or leakage of light!
