The camera cable is long enough to easily mount over a large monitor screen and still reach my computer. Just plug in the USB cable and it will install the standard Windows driver, no disk or software download required. Easy! I bought this camera because of the wide viewing angle. I teach music online and with most cameras I have to position the camera farther away to film me and the entire instrument (like the full width of a piano or guitar keyboard etc.). The camera allows me to be close to the camera and still captures a wide field of view. And everything still looks crisp and natural - no fisheye or weird distortions at all. It just captures most of the room as if the camera were further away from you than it really is. Perfect for my needs. The built-in microphone sounds very good. This is dual microphone with noise canceling technology and it sounds really very clear for speech. My only complaint is that you can't lower the sensitivity of the built-in microphone and it's too hot for some musical instruments even after turning the volume down in the settings. I don't know if this is a defect of the specific microphone I received or if this is normal for this model of microphone. The volume is ideal for normal use (during a conversation), but for singing or playing a musical instrument loudly, the microphone sensitivity is too high and will clip.
