I am a supporter of Shea Moisture. African Black Soap Moisturizer has been a lifesaver for my face for years. This version is definitely matte and I consider this moisturizer to be a radiant version. As the saying goes, this sets the stage and sets a glowing base for the rest of your routine. I use this in the morning because I love the intense hydration, but afterwards I usually apply a mattifying primer (also by Shea Moisture, hey). The texture is thick and creamy, the scent is soft and fresh, slightly oily but never irritating. Most things immediately cause redness on my face, but here all I see is a glow!
