I collect rare vintage posters, many of which are "3-sheet" (ie a poster is three standard-size sheets, which, assembled, is approximately 78 inches high and 40 inches wide). A frame for one of these posters can cost well over $1,000, so I figured a local carpenter would make the frame, then a local glass supplier would cut the glass, and a local art shop would cut the foam; This way I can make three frames for less than the cost of one. After the carpenter, glazier and art shop have made their pieces, all I have to do is assemble the frame. That's where those D-rings come in. I have used the National Hardware brand several times and they do their job well. These large frames are very heavy and I generally prefer to use equipment that can support at least twice the weight of the item being hung. At 60 pounds each, they're perfect for those big frames.
