The camera is VERY clear but the screen is small (which is perfect for the position I've chosen, right next to the steering wheel under the gauges) making it impossible to see exactly where you are heading in 50 yards, but that's not the way you're supposed to be using a rear camera. I installed it on a Chevy extended cab with a full size bed, so I used every inch of the cable, had to make sure I didn't leave any extra slack and didn't go anywhere but a straight line back to the license plate. But it was easy to install, it worked the first time. It only took 1.5 hours, most of which was spent trying to figure out the best way to get the cable out of the cabin. I decided to poke a small hole in the welly that goes from the door jamb to the cab (this truck has power windows) and sink it into the driver's front panel and back into the rear. If you make the hole VERY small you can still pull the connector through by pulling on the rubber but then the wire will actually be sealed quite a bit which should make for a fairly watertight installation. Also note that when you connect a trailer, the gap sensor will be solid red. I just turned off the buzzer and still have the colored distance indicators.
