Very easy assembly. They have a top frame, four corner posts and a bottom frame. The details come together well. For hanging, the height of the rod is highly adjustable - up to two lengths of 17.75 inches and one length of 4 inches. For installation, assembly is quite simple. Install and connect the entire bracket to the top of the ladder, then move the wiring to the side and attach the canopy panel to the ceiling bracket with the screw caps. This way you don't have to hold the mount in place for too long. Looks great when assembled and paired with some Edison style LED bulbs. I installed it in the kitchen with a 12 meter high ceiling and I am very satisfied.
