BUY THESE STANDS! DO THAT! DO IT NOW!

This is excellent value for money. Yes, there may be fancier frames out there, but not nearly as cheap. They are not flashy but strong enough and will last for many years. Unless you stumble upon buying used shelving on Craigslist, you won't find a better deal. Straps fit too. I've driven 70+ mph on the interstate for hours without tightening my belt. They are strong enough to hang yourself, so they should hold the kayak well. They also have a nice little flap that sits under the buckle to keep their metal body from damaging your boat. Just make sure the strap goes under the bar and not just through the post and you should be fine. As for the lack of instructions or the difficulty in assembling. If you can piece the puzzle together, you will piece them together, but that may take some time. If you can change the oil in your car yourself, you won't have any problems. Two kayaks go well with my 2003 Subaru Legacy with stock aerobars. I have a Jackson Hero and a Perception Corsica S in my car. I installed a Wilderness Systems Tsunami 165 in another car with no problems. I've even towed a Bell Yellowstone solo canoe in a pair of these a few times, they don't fit the largest but held the canoe securely without damaging it even though these cradles weren't rated for canoes. Although I also have a set of Yakima Hully Rollers, I can't mount two kayaks on my Subaru like I can with these J-Racks. I would definitely buy them again!
