I am giving this four stars because it holds up very well and is absolutely beautiful. I have not dropped my computer and have no intention of dropping it, so I can't comment on how protective this case really is. I'd say I think it's mostly for looks and enjoyment. Its texture feels a bit rubbery/grainy, so maybe it has some potential for shock resistance? Although I don't bet on it. Usually when I think of a case I want it to be drop proof, not just pretty. If you want a beautiful piece of art on the back of your Macbook Pro, choose this case if you're looking for pure protection. It's best to try a different case. Or take this blanket and put something fluffy underneath. Here, too, the work of art has an amazing protective function. Don't hold your breath.
