This review is for the 2.4 cubic foot beverage refrigerator which holds 85 cans or 24 bottles. I really like this size fridge as it’s a bit bigger than those square dorm fridges and it offers a double pane glass door with light so the contents are viewable. The weight comes in at just under fifty pounds making it possible for me to move it around by myself without help. That’s the main reason I chose this model even though larger models can sell for less . It has five shelves, but there aren’t a lot of slots available to adjust them. I wasn’t able to stand up any cans when I had all the shelves installed so I removed a few. The shelves are black wire racks which work to keep the cans/bottles in place when you lay them on their sides, but they tend to want to tip over when placed upright unless you have the shelf completely full. Some bottled sodas refused to stand upright at all because the bottoms were not flat. The fridge was in perfect condition when I unboxed it. It states in the manual it’s best to wait 24 hours to plug in the fridge if it has been tipped at all which I figured it had on its way to me. When I first plugged it in, I thought something was wrong with the controls. They didn’t respond. I couldn’t change the temperature or turn on the light. There is a lock function and you must press the light button for three seconds until it beeps to unlock the controls. It automatically locks again with a few minutes of inactivity. I suppose this is to prevent children from playing with them. The temperature goes all the way down to 32 degrees—not just 40 as it states in the description. I’ve placed thermometers in different locations in the fridge with the fridge about three quarters full of bottled water, ice tea and sodas and have found the temperature close in range even set on different shelves although the lowest is usually coldest. I set it for 40 degrees and all four thermometers reached 40 within a half an hour. That didn’t seem cold enough so it’s in the mid-30’s now. Location, placement of beverages and being near a heat source (furnace vent or window that gets full sun for example) all can affect internal readings. As long as you don’t use the fridge to store perishable food, it’s not a huge issue.I set up the fridge in my bedroom. It states not to put it on carpet, but I found a couple of those plastic furniture movers under the front feet helped lift it up and level it out so the door opens smoothly. It looks sharp with the solid black cabinet and silver trim framing out the door. I love the blue lighting effect. It lends a cool vibe and makes it easier to see what drinks I have in stock. It’s surprisingly quiet. There’s a low buzz at times and sometimes a subtle gurgling noise from the compressor, but it’s not constant and not anything that bothers me to sleep even in a quiet house. Apart from the price tag, I’m pretty happy with it.
