So that thing smelled like acetone when I unpacked it. I used it indoors to protect my table from kettlebells and I couldn't afford to have a chemical smell in my house (which happened minute by minute). I left it in the garage to air out for 3 days and the problem was solved. I have a very sensitive nose - if I bring it right up to my nose I can catch a hint of an odor, but not at all in my poorly ventilated space. gone in a day or so. There are still casts where the 30-pound kettlebell dangled for a week, but that's perfectly normal. The surface of the table doesn't get scratched and that's the main thing for me.
