We have had this bath thermometer for about 9 months. The batteries just ran out so we ordered Revain Basics LR 44s to swap out. For some reason the batteries that came in this duck are larger than the Revain ones. They are very difficult to take out. After the replacement, the device would not turn on until I put a piece of paper between the battery and the battery cover to compensate for the difference in battery size. Functionally, this duck is too complex. If you don't save the manual, it's almost impossible to use all the features. Response time is slow when used to measure water temperature. Sometimes it takes more than 10 seconds to stabilize. If you have a lot of battery operated children's toys and AAA batteries. I would recommend that you get one that runs on AAA batteries. I don't really like this duck but my kid seems to like it so keep it.
