First off I have to say that if you are looking for a laptop with full PC functionality then your best bet is to look elsewhere. This thing is for portability, always connected and can be used as a tablet if you need a tablet on a regular basis. I won't delve into ARM processors and such as I'm not a hardware/software engineer and there's plenty of information online about them. I review them solely from a user's perspective and according to my specific needs. I won't compare it to Apple products either, as I prefer Windows (just in case, I don't mean Windows is better than iOS). I kind of compare it to the Surface Pro 7 I had. As I NEED a Transformer as I need a tablet and I don't edit photos or play games but instead use it for MS Office tasks, web browsing, JW apps, zoom meetings and video playback, I think this car is pretty good to own. Yes, it's expensive (although I bought it when Microsoft discounted it) as much as it sounds, but I still find reasons to buy it again if this one gets lost or damaged. As the tablet is a lot more comfortable to hold than the Pro 7 in that it doesn't have the rough edges of the 7, this tablet is more rounded, and while both are almost the same weight, the X is much more comfortable to hold, especially in one-handed portrait mode. He's really incredibly fast at what he can do. It even feels faster than the Pro 7 when using the Microsoft Edge browser and feels just as fast when using Office and others. Speaking of the new Edge browser, it's very good that it's now adopted the experience of using Chrome. I was a Chrome user and switched to Edge happily and without any problems, maybe I missed something (perhaps with more in-depth and technical analysis, but as I said, I'm not a techie in these aspects), but I'm very happy with the new one Edge and how fast it runs on the Pro XS. Of course, there are many more applications that it cannot run, but there are several websites on the internet that can help you with that. obviously depends on screen usage and brightness, I think it easily doubles the Pro 7 (which is pretty bad btw), it can last close to 8 hours of zoom usage before running out of power. Charging is pretty fast, with just 20 minutes of charging, the battery life can be extended by a couple of hours. The new pen works great, it is more convenient than the previous one and the ability to store it in the keyboard while charging. This is a big plus. The keyboard is otherwise similar to the previous Surface line, but I find the X's touchpad click noise is noticeably louder, and I prefer the previous one in that regard. The screen is absolutely beautiful, it can get really bright for outdoor use in the sun if needed, and the touch is very responsive. The only thing I need that this machine doesn't have so far is compatibility with a good VPN app like NordVPN or something like that, but in the end it's not a deal breaker for me. I would deduct half a star for that. It probably shouldn't have the name "Pro" in it as that could mean it can do tasks that "Pro" machines can do like photo editing, gaming etc, but as said, what if it satisfies your mobility needs, which will surely make you happy. If many find "Surface Pro X" misleading, think of it as "Surface X". Since it works for many things like clothes, cars, etc. the price always depends on everyone's budget, but I haven't done it. find a LIKE machine I like with a Windows OS that was cheaper than this one. In September and it's almost likely that MS will be introducing a new line in the next few weeks or just a few months, it's advisable to wait for them to arrive if possible. It might even mean that you can get a good deal on this machine if, in turn, it suits your needs. I hope this review helps someone make a decision to buy or give up this machine.
