I've spent way too much time researching clock radios to finally find what I was looking for. This is the best I can find and it works great. In the 1980s, we could walk into any store and pick up an alarm clock radio without thinking, and it worked. It's hard to find an "alarm clock on the radio" these days - it seems that even alarm clocks that come with a radio only wake you up with a buzzer. Then there's the volume issue - I found one that I thought might work, but reviewers complained that they couldn't adjust the volume. Well, that's kind of the problem with that. When I am woken up by the radio, it automatically turns the volume up to maximum. Instead of pressing repeat, I reach for the volume slider. But it works great and is exactly what I was looking for. husband loves it! Now it won't shake the house with volume, but if you want some music in the room, this will do.
