This jacket is beautiful. Soft and lightweight like fleece with all the benefits of a weatherproof shell. I've tried this along with several other jackets that cost a lot more. I liked this one more. See comparisons below. Northface Apex Bionic 2: I was expecting this option to really appeal to me, but I wasn't convinced. The sleeves were unusually long, and they had no elastic or Velcro at the wrists, so they just dangled. I also found my forearms to be oddly tight, making it difficult for me to stretch my arms through in long-sleeved clothing. I also thought the North Side's rubberized logo looked cheap compared to the embroidered Columbia logo. Definitely not worth 150€. Marmot Gravity: This is a good jacket, but it had limited color choices and the waistband was too tight compared to others. A good choice if you want black or gray and don't mind spending $150. Oregon Research Ferrosi: Also a good quality jacket but much thinner than the others. Inside there is no soft fleece lining. It's more of a shell. Its fabric is much more stretchy, which is good for portability but makes it less crisp and sloppy. Good for the track, but not very good for everyday use in the city. Definitely not suitable for the office. Columbia came right on. Warm but not too hot. Comfortable enough to wear while hiking. Attractive enough to wear to the office. My only complaint is that the Velcro on the wrist is a little clunky, but they work well and I'm glad I have them. I'm 5ft 11in, 165lbs and the average fits perfectly. Colors: Note that the images on Amazon are fairly inaccurate. The boulder is lighter gray than in the photo. Dark gray with a slight blue cast. This is "postal worker's gray uniform." Black is all black with a bright white logo. The black north face and groundhog were softer and (in my opinion) more attractive. The excess green is darker than the photo, more like a forest green. I really liked the green (more than I expected) and left it above the others.
