Review on Optimized Rolling Laptop Case by AmazonBasics by Jose Moran

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good budget briefcase

So before I write my review I wanted to ride this bag a bit. I have had this bag for almost 6 months now and use it regularly. Love the overall design of the bag, it holds up well, isn't very expensive, and takes the weight of a backpack off your back (so a plus for those of us with back issues). It has 3 zipped compartments where you can store your belongings. The first zippered compartment on the front has 2 pen pockets, 2 small pockets that can hold pens or other items, 4 business card pockets with one pocket that runs behind business cards, and 2 large pockets that run horizontally behind. (I'll add pictures to show what I'm talking about) Section 2 has a laptop sleeve. I measured my laptop and it's 15 inches long and 10 inches wide/high in the bag, but that's a 17 inch screen (laptop horizontal measurement for those who don't know). The bag has a little padding on the front and back to keep your laptop safe. The bottom is fine too, and my computer didn't suffer, but for those who are more picky about their tech, you might just need a thin layer of foam or other padding (depending on the size of the laptop, you may have this) . in a case up the sleeve). This section also has space for some files or a folder. The final section is large enough to hold a 3 ring binder, although you can attach a larger binder if you don't have anything in the middle section. Inside measurements are 13" tall from hem to zipper and 15" wide from inside corner to inside corner. The dimensions listed in the product description are: 17 (height) x 14.5 (length) x 7.5 (width). Let's move on to the wheels and handles. The wheels seem pretty solid so far and I haven't had any issues with them. They also don't swivel, so this might not suit those looking for a bag with swivel wheels. The fabric handle is durable and handy when you need to lift your bag out of the car or climb stairs. The pull handle is a little loose (and may seem cheap if you have a more expensive bag, but from what I understand from other reviews of more expensive bags, this seems to be a common complaint about pull handles), but in my opinion, experience with it, it's served me well rendered services and caused me no problems. Also, I'm 5'5 and the grip is just right. My boss has the same bag and is probably about 6ft 5" tall and the handle extends far enough for him.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Sad tech
