Our last insert lasted 5 years, the junk only two months.

The firebox was bought in October, and now it's December, it doesn't work and doesn't go out. When you turn on the heating mode, it goes off in less than a minute. I loved it when we first got it but expected it to last longer! I like the way it looks but it sucks if it doesn't heat. Very dissatisfied
