The lock looks well made. It makes a very robust impression and runs smoothly. I bought this to attach to my small trailer and I think it will work great. It seems that one of the complaints about this castle is common to almost all of these types of castles: they're not too difficult to bypass for a determined thief. In my case, the trailer is worth a little and I'm not worried about anyone trying to steal it. That it's locked deters someone from just grabbing it, and that's good enough for me. If you have an expensive tag, you may want to look for better options than a $10 padlock. Another complaint seems to be that it doesn't fit larger (newer?) hitches. I think you just need to know what you have and what the lock is made for. This works for me on my small caravan.
