We have a frame gallery so my opinion is more based on my experience with the highest quality lasts. We searched the internet for cheap ready made frames for a "starving artist" customer and looked for wooden frames as advertised. As a rule, the term "wood" means solid wood. These frames are made from wood (MFD Wood) which is a by-product of wood chips and sawdust which is then compressed and held together. A sheet of vinyl is then applied to hold everything together. The reason we weren't as happy with these frames as we could be (we ordered 4) is because these frames don't support finishing hardware (screws tend to loosen in the material) and ATG tapes and backing paper glue not very much stick good. on smooth vinyl. In any case, if you're a consumer using the hardware that came with the frames, you should be fine (see second photo). You may need to adjust the corners a bit, but it shouldn't be visible on the wall.
