Two KraftMaid kitchen cabinet door hinges broke at about the same time after almost 20 years of use. I thought I could live with that but there were special hinges that helped the door close softly and unfortunately didn't allow the door to stay open now that the small piece of plastic inside was cracked. I had no idea what loop we needed. I am grateful that the manufacturer stamped the number and some identifying marks on the inside so that I could find these replacement parts in my search. They were a lot cheaper than the original hinges and I have a few extras now in case this happens to other hinges in the kitchen again. Very easy replacement as the screw holes matched and I only had to remove one and then put in a new one. Make sure your hinge flex matches this (kink on the inside of the hinge). Obviously, some models have a crease on the outside of the hinge, so replacing it isn't that easy.
