I bought it to use with my MythTV based DVR. I was hoping that the remote control buttons could be reprogrammed, but it turned out not to be the case. This means I have to change the button assignments in my dashcam software, not the remote, which is annoying because if I decide to break the keyboard for a more thorough reprogramming, the button combinations won't match the mnemonics. However, this is not the end. World. It works. It works out of the box for 90% of what I want. However, he is not perfect. The gyro mouse is fine, but it's smooth and not entirely accurate, but it's far from useless. It's intuitive and easy, I had no trouble figuring it out and luckily it's easy to disable because I didn't want a gyro mouse anyway. The device also uses a gyroscope to activate or deactivate the different sides of the remote control, so there are no accidental button presses from the wrong side. keyboard side of the remote control. Fur. The keys aren't particularly good, and when you hold them in your hand, the edges seem to dig into your skin. Not enough to leave a mark, but you don't want to use it for too long. Don't expect to write something long with it. That's enough for quick searches or short messages. The usual QWERTY layout makes it easy to find the right keys. Annoyingly, the Alt and Caps functions are toggles. You turn on Alt and it stays on until you press Alt again. It would be nice if there was an activation indicator on the remote, but there isn't. Also, Alt is only for alternative functions on the remote itself. So forget about any keyboard shortcuts that require you to use Ctrl or Alt, they don't exist. The Alt stickers are also annoyingly dark against the black keys, making them difficult to read unless placed directly and in direct sunlight. My biggest problem was that it stopped working after a few weeks. It reacted incorrectly to keystrokes and simply crashed when interacting. However, after removing and reinserting the batteries, the problem was completely gone and never came back. I'm mentioning this just in case it happens to anyone reading this review so they know it's a small issue that's easily fixed. None of this is a deal breaker, however, and none of it is bad enough that I would advise people to avoid. It's good enough to be used with a media center, which of course it was made for. Of course there is room for improvement, but it's not too bad. If you're looking for something reasonably priced that makes it a decent media center remote and keyboard for casual use, then this isn't a bad choice at all.
